Oporto has opened its latest store in Buranda, set in the heart of South Brisbane, to expand its offering in the Queensland market.
Oporto is delighted to be adding another new eatery to such an important food hub in Australia. The new store opening is just one of the first steps Oporto is taking in this market to grow its footprint, joining the existing 18 stores in the state and with plans to open over ten new restaurants over the next two years which will create about 30 new jobs per store.
Manny Farinha, the franchise partner who has just bought the Buranda store, is of Portuguese heritage and he couldn’t be more proud.
“I am so excited to be joining the Oporto familia and to be running my own business again. My heritage is very important to me, so it was great to see all those values that are entrenched in our culture reflected in Oporto’s own values.
I come from a very big Portuguese family and I want to share my culture with my kids. The moment I heard about the company, I knew it was the right fit for me – I connected with Antonio’s story from the get go, I love that the food is authentic Portuguese and the brand is very vibrant which reflects our culture perfectly. Can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.”
